The start venue for the Half Marathon is North of Waipapakauri Ramp. You will run along the beach from the start point to the finish line. The terrain is a mixture of hard and soft sand, with dunes to the left and ocean to the right.
The tide will be out at the time of the first races commencing. The course is completely signposted, with gazebo’s and aid tents every 3km.

TRANSPORT TO START LOCATION
Transport to the start line is included for all Ultra marathon runners
Confirmation of transport is essential and we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment
A bus will be departing Paripari domain in Ahipara at 5.30am on race day for those staying locally and may need transport to the Te Ahu Centre and onwards to the start line.
The bus to the start line will depart at the Te Ahu Centre in Kaitaia at 6am and will take you to the start line.
Those entrants not taking the bus are welcome to follow the bus departing from Te Ahu Centre, Kaitaia at 6:00am to the start of the race.
The route through Hukatere to the beach and the start line will be clearly signposted
The start line can be found on Google Maps or Waze by searching “The Bluff, Waka Te Haua” - please ensure the map downloads prior to leaving Kaitaia as there is limited cellphone reception
There will be baggage bins provided at the start line for runners personal belongings, and personal belongings will be found for collection at the Finishers Aid Station at Paripari Domain, Ahipara.
